This Challenge Will Run From 2/28/2022 to 3/28/2022. Active Facebook Account Required. 


The benefits of fasting include allowing your gut time to “rest”, helps to reset insulin levels which we know is beneficial to weight loss, and helps you identify your body’s true hunger signals.

Have you heard of it but not sure exactly what it entails? It doesn’t matter if you are experienced or have never heard of IF before- we will guide you. If you are currently a faster: having more structure, accountability, and camaraderie is always helpful.

You will receive 4 menus created along with recipes and a grocery shopping list. In addition, you will be able to access Live Q&A sessions with Dr. Cavo and some of the dietitians throughout the challenge. You will be able to interact with other Pounds members in a closed Facebook group throughout the challenge

Over the next 4 weeks we are going to explore different eating and fasting windows. Some days may feel like a challenge, and that is okay, that’s part of the point! You will become more in tune with the cues your body is giving you regarding hunger and fullness and you will have a team of support around you.

Dr. Cavo recommends coming into the Southington office and having the Reevue metabolism testing done before the challenge starts as a baseline. He then recommends retesting it after the 4 weeks to see if/how fasting has affected your metabolism. If you are interested in scheduling, please call the office.

We encourage you to follow the menus as closely as possible to maximize benefit. Of course, you can modify for foods you dislike or to suit your home environment and family’s needs. Adjust servings to create fewer or more meals out of the menus based upon what works for you.

Before you start: we recommend taking inventory of what you have access to in your kitchen. It is much easier to get through a challenge like this if there aren’t temptations calling to you from your pantry. Enlist the support of your loved ones to set up a successful environment.



Note: If you are a diabetic on medications that could cause you to have low blood sugars, we need to be sure you do not go TOO low on your carbohydrates or go too long without eating. You can email us or call the office to let us know about your concerns. There are also other medical conditions and medications that some people may be taking that would NOT be recommended to join this challenge. Please discuss with someone on the Pounds Transformation team or with your primary care doctor if you have any concerns.

Participants in this challenge are NOT establishing a “doctor/patient relationship” with those of us running the challenge. You may place yourself at unnecessary risk if you do not have your medications and medical conditions reviewed prior to starting the challenge.
